Tamera is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She received her Masters in Human Services and Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. She has experience working with clients in therapeutic foster care, comprehensive care centers, outpatient private practices, and provided mobile counseling services in-school and in-home settings. She has worked with clients from age 2- to 75-years-old. She approaches counseling from a holistic wellness perspective and uses a variety of techniques including: cognitive behavioral therapy, Adlerian therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques. Additionally, as a Registered Play Therapist, Tamera’s approach includes many creative, expressive, and activity-based approaches. She believes children communicate through play, and recreational activities can be used to heal and maintain wellness. She has training in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy and Theraplay, which focus on building healthy and healing relationships with caregivers and young children. She works alongside her clients to fit counseling techniques to their unique needs, interests, and strengths. Tamera enjoys working with children, teens, and adults on concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, anger management, trauma, attachment, parenting, depression, and grief.
